Employer-Sponsored Visas

Global Synergy Migration and Education assist with Skills In Demand (SID) Visa (Subclass 482) and Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa (Subclass 186) applications, allowing employers to sponsor skilled workers to fill job vacancies.

Employer-Sponsored Visas enable Australian businesses to sponsor foreign workers when they cannot find suitable candidates locally. These visas can lead to temporary or permanent residency, depending on the type of visa and eligibility of the applicant.

The main types of employer-sponsored visas include:

1. Skills in Demand Visa – Subclass 482

The Skills in Demand Visa (Subclass 482), previously known as the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa, allows skilled overseas workers to live and work in Australia temporarily for an approved employer in an occupation that is in demand. This visa allows employers to sponsor skilled workers to fill positions where no suitable Australian worker is available. It is divided into three streams:

1. Short-Term Stream

  • For occupations listed on the Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).
  • Allows a stay of up to 2 years, or up to 4 years if an international trade obligation applies.
  • Can be renewed while in Australia.

2. Medium-Term Stream

  • For occupations on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
  • Grants up to 4 years stay.
  • Eligible for permanent residency pathways through the Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186).

3. Labour Agreement Stream

  • For employers with a labour agreement with the Australian government.
  • Enables businesses to hire workers in positions not on the standard occupation lists.

2. Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa – Subclass 186

This permanent visa allows skilled workers nominated by an approved Australian employer to live and work in Australia indefinitely.

It includes:

  • Direct Entry Stream – for applicants in or outside Australia, with at least 3 years work experience in the nominated occupation.
  • Temporary Residence Transition Stream – for 482 visa holders transitioning to permanent residency.

3. Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa – Subclass 494

Designed to encourage skilled migration to regional Australia, this visa allows employers in designated regional areas to sponsor skilled workers for up to 5 years, with a pathway to permanent residency.
